MODERN LANGUAGE TEACHERS ASSOCIATION OF WA (MLTAWA) 2016 BIENNIAL STATE CONFERENCE

The Office of Multicultural Interests (OMI) is excited to be able to offer 50 free registrations to the Modern Language Teachers Association (MLTAWA) 2016 Biennial State Conference. The MLTAWA is the peak body for all language teachers in WA. The conference will be held in Fremantle on 19-20 August 2016 under the theme – “From Margins to Mainstream”. The focus is on building community understanding of the importance of language education.

The OMI Professional Learning Program for Community Language Schools Program is offering a total of 50 registrations to attend the conference free of cost. The registration will include access to the 2 days of the conference, the conference dinner and a six-month membership to the MLTAWA and access to the MLTAWA Babel magazine.

The conference will include sessions presented by leading language academics and educators including specialists in community languages.

The conference will also provide an opportunity to raise awareness of the role language plays in literacy development and intercultural skills, the new curriculum and alternative approaches to teaching and learning.

The conference is a two (2) day event and those of you who would like to register are asked to confirm that you are able to attend for both days.
